Today, wireless carrier Three UK officially announced the availability of the Android Jelly Bean operating system upgrade for its Xperia T users.

According to the operator, users interested in updating their devices should download and install the Sony PC Companion software on their PCs to perform the action.

“News for Sony Xperia T owners on Three, Jellybean is being rolled out,” the company announced on Twitter.

To update the handset, users will need to connect it to a Windows-based computer, and fire up the aforementioned desktop application. The software should automatically find updates for the handset, download them and prompt users to install them.

Before proceeding, however, users are advised to back up all data on the device, so as to make sure that nothing is lost. Specific info on how to perform the update can be found on this page on Three’s support website.
