The Nexus 9 is yet to receive the same treatment

Android 5.1 has been rolling out for a few weeks now and select Nexus and Google Play Devices have already gotten the treatment.

As it happens with any software update such as this, the rollout is gradual, so some users might get it sooner than others based on location and the respective device they are rocking.

The good news today is that Android 5.1 has started rolling out for the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 (2012) in India (as seen at Fonearena).

The build for the Nexus 4 weighs 174.5MP, while in the case of the Nexus 7, you have a 101.6MB update in front of you.

Android 5.1 Lollipop brings a host of improvements and bug fixes, including a new way to edit your Quick Settings in the notification panel.

If you can’t wait for your device to get hit by the OTA update, you can go ahead and check manually to see if the new build is available, by accessing Settings and then clicking on About Phone and System Updates.

Android 5.1 Lollipop for Nexus 5 was rolled out in India earlier this month, and Google also listed the factory images for the Nexus 5, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi). These two models almost complete the lineup (the Nexus 9 is still nowhere to be seen).
