The roll-out has started in the company’s home country

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been rolled out into the wild a few months ago, but sadly the build hasn’t reached a lot of devices just yet.

Interestingly enough, LG was one of the first companies that started offering the Lollipop update to their respective devices.

For example, LG’s 2014 flagship, the G3 has already been updated and for the past weeks we have received persistent evidence that the LG G2 will also get bumped up to Lollipop soon enough.

Previously, we had no idea when the new build might hit the G2, but now according to LG Phone Firmware, Android 5.0 has started hitting units in South Korea (as seen at GSM Arena).

Handsets working on the SK Telecom and LG U+ networks are now eligible to install Google’s latest and greatest.

The update arrives on the smartphone as version V30D, with “3” indicating the respective Android version. For example, V20A is a KitKat build, while the V20D is the software version that brought along Knock Code on the G2.

As it happens with these sorts of updates, the roll-out will happen gradually. So it might take a few weeks before the Lollipop update for the LG G2 reaches owners in another country.

We’re also hoping LG will roll out Lollipop for the G2 Mini, but again we don’t have a timeline for it.
