Ever since Android 5.0 Lollipop arrived into the wild five months ago, Samsung has been doing its best to provide the update to most of its devices.

Sammy’s last year flagship, the Galaxy S5, has been enjoying the update for months now, but the company hasn’t forgotten about the phone’s rugged alternative, the Galaxy S5 Active, either.

The handset is an AT&T exclusive and until now ran Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. The device is built to be water-resistant and dustprood based on an IP67 rating. This means the phone is submersible in up to 1m / 3ft of water for up to 30 minutes.

Anyway, going to the update, Samsung is rolling out Lollipop in Europe in the Northern countries (as seen at Sam Mobile). Expect the update to weigh around 1.4GB, so you’d better charge your device before initiating the download.

As it happens with these updates, some models will get the new build sooner than others. If you haven’t received any notification yet, you can manually check to see if Lollipop has arrived on your phone by going to Settings>About phone>Software updates.

We’re also expecting Samsung to launch the same update for the Galaxy Tab S duo of AMOLED tablets, which showed up running the build at MWC 2015.
