The Galaxy Note Edge is the second Samsung smartphone that receives a major update at T-Mobile in the last couple of weeks.

The Magenta carrier released Android 5.0.1 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 last week, so now customers who opted for the Edge version will be able to upgrade their phablets as well.

According to T-Mobile, Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is about 1.1GB in size and is pushed OTA (over the air), in stages. This means that it might take a few days until all users receive the update.

The update is available beginning May 4 and it should provide Android 5.0.2 Lollipop and enable Wi-Fi passport. Samsung Galaxy Note Edge owners can download it over Wi-Fi or through Samsung Kies desktop software.

In order to manually check for the update, simply head over to Settings / About device / Software update / Tap Ok to check for it.

Make sure your phone's battery is at least 50% charged and that it's connected to a Wi-Fi network if you don't plan on downloading it via Samsung Kies.

Since Samsung Galaxy Note Edge was launched late last year, we expect the phablet to continue to receive major Android updates until next year.
