The three handsets will jump directly to 5.0.1

A few days ago I brought you news that Samsung was looking to bypass a stage in terms of software updates while the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge smartphones are concerned.

According to information, the two handsets will end up receiving Android 5.0.1 and not Android 5.0, as the original plan was.

On top of that, Samsung was revealed to be also working on the same update for the Korean-exclusive Galaxy S5 LTE-A.

The folks at Sam Mobile have managed to get their hands on previews showing Android 5.0.1 running on the above-mentioned devices.

Sure, the 5.0.1 version isn't a huge upgrade over 5.0, but you’ll notice a few extra features such as the addition of slow and fast motion video recording. On top of that, it brings fixes for various bugs.

As you’ll notice in the videos, the builds aren't in their final stages yet. For example, Multi Users pops on the S5 LTE-A, while the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge don’t have it, at the moment.

This means Samsung still has some work to put into the finalization of these builds. But how long will it take?

A recent report said that Google was already expected to roll out the Android 5.1 update this February.
