Owners of a Moto X smartphone on the network of wireless carrier Verizon will soon enjoy the benefits of Android 4.4 KitKat, as the carrier has already started a soak test for the update.

Reports on the matter started to emerge ever since last week, but confirmation came only today, when the changelog for the update delivered to testers has appeared online, via droid-life.

In addition to getting the new Android OS flavor, Moto X users on Big Red’s network will also take advantage of various other improvements as part of the update, as the list of changes attached to this post unveils.

Thus, Moto X will receive an updated phone dialer, camera improvements, and an enhanced gallery application. Furthermore, the new version comes with an update to Hangouts, touchless control capabilities, and NFC improvements.

Provided that the testing goes well, we should see the official Android 4.4 update arriving on Moto X very soon.
