Although Google has confirmed that it will not offer an official Android 4.4 KitKat update for Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the community has decided that this device needs to get at least an unofficial build as soon as possible.

Phandroid reports that Android developer baldwinguy77 has just released the first Android 4.4 KitKat ROM for Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Nexus. This build does not come with any bugs, or at least that's what the developer claims.

We have recently reported that the international version of Samsung Galaxy Nexus received two Android 4.4 KitKar ROMs at once, but Verizon's model did not have any builds available until today.

Keep in mind that this build is created from AOSP and has very few modifications. The dev has also included Verizon and Google apps that were introduced in the previous official updates as well. Last but not least, this ROM is not rooted, but those who prefer to root it can easily do so.
