We reported earlier this month that major carrier Vodafone Australia tested the long-awaited Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Xperia SP and Xperia TX, and it took Sony less than a week to deliver the update.

Today, another major update is about to be tested by the Australian carrier. According to XperiaBlog, Vodafone Australia has already scheduled testing for Android 4.4 KitKat update for Sony Xperia Z.

Unfortunately, the carrier does not mention when exactly it will begin testing for this build, but we suspect that it will be sometime this month.

If everything goes smoothly, we should expect Sony to roll out the Android 4.4 KitKat update for Xperia Z within the next few weeks.

On a side note, the carrier has already scheduled testing for Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for Xperia M, so here is another Sony smartphone that will receive a major upgrade in the coming weeks.
