The handset maker will skip the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update

Shortly after unveiling the LG Nexus 5 and the new Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, Google and Motorola decided to offer fans more reasons to celebrate the new announcements.

Punit Soni, VP, product management at Motorola Mobility confirmed that his company had updated the Upgrade page with fresh information regarding the Android 4.4 KitKat platform.

Checking the site reveals that no less than four Motorola smartphones have been confirmed to receive the new Android 4.4 KitKat update, and a few more are still waiting for the company's decision.

The lucky owners of Motorola Moto X, DROID Ultra, MAXX, and Mini phones will be able to upgrade their devices directly to Android 4.4 KitKat in the coming weeks.

In addition, Motorola DROID RAZR HD, DROID RAZR MAXX HD, DROID RAZR M, and DROID RAZR M Developer Edition are still waiting for the company's decision. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
