Android 4.4.3 KitKat is a new update for Google’s mobile operating system that will soon be deployed to all compatible Nexus devices.

US-based carrier Sprint is the first to announce the immediate availability of the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for Nexus 5, but other Nexus devices are expected to receive it as well.

The next devices that should get the latest update are all compatible Google Play Edition smartphones, including Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and Sony Xperia Z Ultra.

Well, it looks like the first signs of the update’s arrival have just popped up online, as Bluetooth SIG has just certified a new firmware update for Sony Xperia Z Ultra, which appears to be the hotly anticipated Android 4.4.3 KitKat.

According to XperiaBlog, the new software, version KTU72.S1.3013, has just been certified by Bluetooth SIG. This iteration should be a direct reference to the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update that is expected to arrive soon.

Although there is no release date mentioned by Bluetooth SIG, Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition owners should expect to receive the update soon after the Nexus devices get it. Keep in mind that this KitKat update only brings bug fixes and minor improvements.
