More owners of the HTC One smartphone out there can now download and install the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system on their devices, as HTC has also started to deliver it to the unlocked units in the United States.

The update was previously spotted on HTC One units in Europe, and has started to arrive on Developer Edition devices yesterday, but it seems that unlocked units are also receiving it.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat lands on HTC’s flagship handset with Sense 5.5 UI loaded on top, and features software version 4.19.1540.4. The update weighs 312.22 MB, XDA-Developers reports.

The new OS version is being rolled out OTA, and users will receive a notification when it is available for their handsets. However, they can also manually check for its availability, through going to Settings > About phone > Software updates.
