Although HTC announced yesterday that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for HTC One would be delayed for one to two weeks in North America, it looks like the update has been released in Canada after all.

MobileSyrup reports that HTC One devices in Canada are now eligible for upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat as long as they have been purchased through one of the following carriers: Rogers, TELUS, Bell, Virgin, SaskTel and WIND Mobile.

The update has about 585MB in size and is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages. Aside from bringing the software to version 4.4.2, it adds some new features and improvements.

Cloud Print Service, security enhancements and new Bluetooth profiles to support more media interactions are just a few of the changes included in this major update.

We recommend HTC One owners in Canada to use a Wi-Fi connection for the update due to its large size. HTC has also confirmed that the update will not delete any data from the phone.
