Last week, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation suggested that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system update might arrive on HTC One devices at AT&T and T-Mobile as soon as this week, but it appears that things might not happen this way.

Responding to a user inquiry on Twitter, Jason Mackenzie, president of HTC America, has confirmed that the update will be pushed to AT&T’s version of the handset only next week.

According to him, the update will likely arrive in the last week of February, which suggests that AT&T might need more time to test the new firmware, as HTC Source notes.

However, T-Mobile’s HTC One users should be receiving the update starting with this week, Jason Mackenzie also unveiled. Specific details on the rollout should start arriving in the near future, so stay tuned to learn the news.
