South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has finally started to deliver the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system to the owners of Galaxy S4 smartphones out there, after officially confirming the availability of the upgrade only a few days ago.

According to a recent article on SamMobile, the update will bring along a great deal of enhancements, including new status bar icons, improved lock screen, better performance, and more.

At the same time, the update will pack the improvements that were pushed out to other handsets out there as well, such as the possibility to change the stock messaging app with Hangouts for SMS/MMS, new emoji, and the option to change the default launcher.

The update will be rolled out OTA in phases, which means that some users might have to wait longer for it to arrive. Users will be able to check on the software’s availability by heading to Settings > More > About Device > Software update > Update.
