A few weeks ago, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics officially announced specific details on its Android 4.4 KitKat update rollout plans, and the new firmware appears to be already reaching Galaxy S4 users in Nordic countries.

The update, based on the 4.4.2 version of the Android platform, is being pushed to Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) devices in Finland and Sweden as build number I9505XXUFNB9, a recent report from mobiili.fi unveils. Owners of the Galaxy S4+ (GT-I9506) will have to wait a bit longer for it to arrive, it seems.

At the moment, the new firmware release is being pushed to users via the Samsung Kies desktop application, though it might not be too long before it starts arriving over-the-air as well.

As part of this OS upgrade, users will enjoy a series of interface changes, such as the white status bar, along with a modified lock screen, which will allow users to easily access the camera without having to unlock the phone.

At the same time, the update will deliver a variety of performance improvements to Galaxy S4 users, which will enjoy smoother overall operations on their devices. The on-screen keyboard has been updated too, and it should be better when typing in landscape mode.
