One of the enhancements that Google’s new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system brings along is better photosphere capabilities, capable of delivering an improved overall experience.

As part of the update, users will enjoy updated alignment and stitching, which should result in fewer errors in the image, Evan Rapoport, product manager on Google Maps for Photo Sphere at Google, explains in a recent post on Google+.

He also states that environments with lots of moving things might not provide the expected result, but that static scenes with a long flat horizon will be much better.

At the same time, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean arrives on devices with improvements to exposure compensation for each individual frame, so that the photosphere will be beautifully exposed.

“You can compare this to the previous versions that produced gray areas and inconsistent coloring in areas of high contrast (near the sun, horizons, buildings against blue sky, etc.),” Evan notes.
