The new software release brings various UI changes

Owners of Sony’s LTE-enabled Xperia Tablet Z can now download and install the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system on their devices, as the handset vendor has just started to push it out to them.

The new software release has already been spotted on the device in Indonesia, where it landed as version 10.3.1.A.0.244. According to XperiaGuide, users will be able to upgrade their devices through the PC Companion desktop application.

Some of the enhancements that the new firmware brings along include centered Soft Buttons at the bottom, the notification bar now placed at the top instead, various other UI changes and the Quick Settings feature added to the notification panel.

Furthermore, following the update, users will see that the lock screen has semi-transparent status bar. No specific info on how long it will take for the update to arrive on devices in more markets has been provided as of now.
