South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has delayed the release of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for the owners of Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II smartphones, recent reports on the matter suggest.

No official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now, but it appears that a series of changes made to the TouchWiz UI for these devices was the main reason for the push back.

The info comes from SamMobile, but it is not accompanied by an estimated release date for the software, which means that we’ll have to wait for Samsung to provide specific details on the matter to learn more on what users could expect from the update.

At the moment, both Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II run under Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
