Samsung is currently testing the update for Galaxy S II as well

With Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out, handset makers are now assessing the new platforms capabilities and prepare to update their compatible devices.

HTC recently confirmed it will update its One XL, One X and One S smartphones to Jelly Bean, though the handset maker did not reveal an exact time frame for the release of these updates.

It main rival, Samsung has yet to make any official announcements regarding Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update schedule.

However, the folks over at Sammobile have just learned that Samsung is currently testing Jelly Bean for Galaxy S III and Galaxy S II.

According to sources close to the matter, Samsung Galaxy S III might receive the hotly anticipated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update around August / September. Samsung Galaxy S II has yet to be confirmed for the upgrade. Stay tuned for more info on the subject.
