South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung started the delivery of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system upgrade to its Galaxy Note GT-N7000 handset only a few weeks ago, but the company has already made the source code for the device available for download.

As Android Police notes, those who would like to grab it can do so via Samsung’s Open Source Release Center.

The availability of the Jelly Bean source for the international flavor of the device will provide app developers with the possibility to design software specifically targeted at this smartphone.

At the same time, it will enable modders to come up with their own builds of Jelly Bean for Galaxy Note, through adding new features to them, or through removing some of the apps and capabilities that Samsung has packed there.
