We reported less than a week ago that Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean was ported to Sony Xperia U, unofficially. The build was ported from the official Jelly Bean ROM for Xperia go and it had some issues that needed to be ironed out.

Today, the folks at XperiaBlog report that another Xperia smartphone has received the same treatment. It appears that XDA Developers forum member munjeni managed to port an Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware from the Xperia P and Xperia go ROMs to the Sony Xperia sola.

The new Jelly Bean port can only be installed on Sony Xperia sola that have unlocked bootloader and run a stock Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich ROM.

It is also worth mentioning that the unofficial Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean ROM for Xperia sola can be installed from recovery. For more details on how to download and install this port, head over to the original thread.
