Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is the latest operating system update to be delivered to Galaxy Nexus smartphones on the network of wireless carrier Vodafone in Australia.

The carrier has announced the availability of this platform upgrade this week, several months after the device received it in other markets around the world.

“From 31 January 2013, the roll out of the Android 4.1.2 software update began for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus,” the carrier announced.

The new software will reach all handsets in a week’s time, Vodafone said, adding that it will provide users with performance and stability enhancements, as well as with bug and security fixes.

The update is being delivered to users over the air, and is free of charge, the wireless services provider also said. Additional info on the matter can be found on this support page.
