The Ice Cream Sandwich update was initially slated for a Q2 release

Bad news for LG Optimus 2X owners as the South Korean company has just confirmed Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update has been pushed back to Q3 2012.

Even though LG was among the first handset vendors to announce a release roadmap for the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, the company seems to be unable to stick with the previously announced schedule.

The LG Optimus LTE, Optimus 2X, Optimus Sol, my Touch Q, Eclipse and LG Prada 3.0 have been scheduled for an Ice Cream Sandwich update in Q2 2012.

Unfortunately, LG Singapore confirmed on its Facebook page that Optimus 2X wouldn’t be getting the promised update until Q3. It’s unclear if the other devices expected to receive the ICS upgrade in Q2 are still on track to get it.
