After numerous delays, Acer has finally started the rollout of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for some of its tablets.

Although the company promised to deploy the update for all Iconia Tab A500 slates beginning April 27, it appears that owners will be able to upgrade their devices starting today.

The folks over at Phandroid have just been tipped on the availability of the update by several Acer Iconia Tab A500 owners who already upgraded to Android 4.0 ICS.

It may come as a surprise that Acer was able to deliver the long-awaited ICS update for Iconia Tab A500 ahead of schedule, but this is actually the second time they manage to pull it off.

As we reported two days ago, Acer also rolled out Android 4.0.3 ICS for Iconia Tab A100, which was previously scheduled for April 27.
