Owners of a Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone from Australian wireless carrier Optus can now download and install Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich on their devices.

The update is available for them through Samsung’s desktop application Kies, though rumor has it that it might be pushed over the air as well.

Optus is the first wireless carrier in Australia to offer the update to its users, though more of them should follow suit in the near future.

The Ice Cream Sandwich operating system started to arrive on Galaxy S II smartphones a few weeks ago, and is currently being delivered only to users in a few countries worldwide.

However, Samsung promised the update to all of its users, and will deliver it to them in the coming weeks, regardless of the location or carrier.

The latest version of Samsung Kies is available for download from Softpedia via this link.
