Amazon has been long rumored to plan the release of its own smartphone, supposedly called Kindle, the same as its e-readers, and new rumors on the matter have emerged, suggesting that the first half of the next year will prove to be the lucky timeframe for enthusiasts.

The handset hasn’t been confirmed as of now, but DigiTimes reports that at least one Taiwanese company has received orders for components for this device.

The news site claims that Amazon has ordered compact camera modules from Primax Electronics, and that it will be using it in a smartphone that will be launched in the first half of the next year.

Moreover, the report claims that this smartphone will pack floating touch technology, and that it will include six CCMs for sensing.

As BGR notes, this appears to confirm previous reports that the device would sport a 3D display. Keep an eye on this space for additional info on the matter.
