World’s largest retailer Amazon has just updated its Android application with a handful of new features and several bug fixes.

Amazon Mobile is one of the most popular shopping apps for Android devices and allows users to browse and make purchases right from the mobile phones.

Those who use this application can make purchases from any Amazon site around the world. The latest version will now allow users to tap to zoom on product images.

In addition, Amazon confirmed plans to improve the sign-in experience to make it easier for customers to access their Amazon accounts. The new Account Permissions feature cannot be used to create or delete accounts.

Last but not least, Amazon confirmed it had fixed an LG Optimus barcode scanning crash, and added some bug fixes and performance enhancements.

Amazon Mobile for Android 2.1 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.0 and up. Check it out here.
