Microsoft has yet to officially confirm its plans for the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system, but more info on the platform appears to have been emerged online in a newly leaked screenshot.

The image, available courtesy of thewincentral, supposedly shows not only that the upcoming operating system will have separate volume controls for apps, but also the fact that it will indeed sport on-screen buttons.

As the news site notes, the screenshot appears to be in line with what previous leaks on the platform unveiled, but there’s no telling on whether the image is real or fake, so we’ll take it with a grain of salt for the time being.

According to previous reports on Windows Phone 8.1, Microsoft will make it available for manufacturers sometime towards the end of March, while releasing it to end users in late April or May, so we’ll still have to wait a few months before specifics on the matter become official.
