Google Nexus 7 is the first device to come with Nvidia’s KAI platform inside. However, it appears that the company plans to push its Tegra 3 quad-core chipset into the smartphone market as well.

The folks over at MyDrivers claim that Nvidia’s KAI will power a bunch of upcoming smartphones, which are expected to be launched on the market by the end of the year.

Rumor has it that several Chinese handset manufacturers already inked partnerships with Nvidia in order to release low-cost Nvidia Tegra 3 smartphones in the next following months.

Although no name has been given, we expect Huawei, ZTE and Lenovo to be among the first companies to announce such powerful, but cheap devices, in the future. No other details have been unveiled yet, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
