Today, Sprint’s subsidiary Virgin Mobile announced the availability of a new affordable device for its users, namely the Kyocera Event, featuring a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and running under Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

The new device features a 3.5-inch HVGA IPS touchscreen display, as well as a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, and sports a price tag of only $79.99 (€60) on the carrier's website, without requiring the signing of a contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

Furthermore, the smartphone arrives on shelves in black, with 4GB ROM/512MB RAM, as well as with a microSD memory card slot with support of up to 32GB of additional storage space.

When paired with the operator’s Beyond Talk unlimited data and messaging plans starting at $35 per month, the phone should prove a great option for those looking for great communication capabilities while on the go, Virgin Mobile says.
