Last month, we told you that Nokia Lumia 1020 owners in Canada and United States were finally receiving the Lumia Denim update, after a long wait. But the AT&T version was nowhere in sight, so many Lumia 1020 users on this carrier were starting to lose hope.

Today, however, we bring great news to those users: the Lumia Denim update has started rolling out for their model. It’s an OTA update, so if you haven’t seen any notification alerting you the new build is here, be patient, as these rollouts happen in stages.

The much craved for Lumia Denim update allows users to active Microsoft’s virtual assistant Cortana by simply saying “Hey, Cortana.”

It also adds the possibility of creating live folders and will allow users to see MSN Weather info and data from MSN Health and Fitness on the glance screen.

Last but not least, the firmware introduces the possibility to surf within the browser over a virtual private network.

The AT&T Nokia Lumia 1020 is one of the last Lumia smartphones in North America to receive the Lumia Denim update.

We know users have been waiting impatiently for it, and thankfully, the happy day has finally come. Make sure you are in the vicinity of a secure Wi-Fi network and your battery is charged at least up to 50% before you download and install the Lumia Denim update.
