This is the second device getting the upgrade this week

Shortly after rolling out Windows Phone 8.1 Update for HTC One M8, AT&T now offers the same update for Lumia 635 devices.

This is quite unexpected since there are lots of Lumia 830 smartphones that have yet to receive the update. The Lumia 830 and Lumia 735 have been confirmed to receive Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2, but Microsoft did not mention anything about the Lumia 635.

Even though many OEM devices received the update this month, including BLU Win HD LTE, Prestigio 8500 Duo, Billy Yezz 4.7, and Lava Iris Win 1, not many Lumia devices got the update through official methods.

But that might change in the coming weeks, since Microsoft is now rolling out the upgrade to Lumia smartphones that haven't been confirmed to get it yet.

Those of you who own an AT&T Lumia 635 smartphone should now check for software update 02173.00000.15154.500xx / 8.10.15137.148 on their devices.

You should expect many improvements such as Bluetooth HID support for external keyboards, MKV support for video playback, Reset Protection feature, Reorganized Settings screen with categories and search, App permission toggles, and Pin Individual Settings to the Start Screen.

It will be interesting to see what other Lumia smartphones Microsoft will upgrade to Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
