What's new in Waze APK 4.15.0.901 Beta:

  • Communication of Offline Reports - You can now send reports offline (up to three) and they are sent when you get online
  • Tap on turn - clicking on turn in the turn list will show the turn on map.
  • Map scheme visibility change for parking lots:
  • Parking lots will only be shown on the map in a low zoom level - when the driver is close to the destination the polygon will appear blue
  • Parking lot names aren't shown on the map unless it's very big
  • Dynamic arrows:
  • If you see an arrow which you think is not correct, please supply a screenshot of the arrow, the route you were taking (which direction you came from), and a link to the Waze map editor (or Google Maps if that's a problem) showing the problematic intersection / roundabout.
  • We noticed many cases where the dynamic arrow shows an inaccurate intersection, however when comparing with the map editor, the dynamic arrow properly reflects the data there, and in-fact the map editor's data is built in such a way that causes the dynamic arrow to render improperly. In these cases, there is not much that can be done other than updating the map via the map editor to more properly reflect the intersection. Examples for such issues include:
  • Roundabouts which are not properly aligned with the real-life road, causing the exits' angle to appear slightly deviated from reality.
  • Intersections which are split into multiple segments in the map editor. Some such segment splits will only allow a left & straight turn when in reality, also a right turn is allowed.
  • Revamped the way short segments are processed - now if an intersection has a short (shorter than 25m) segment connected to it, the short segment will be iterated and all segments connected to that one (that are not restricted access) will be processed as passive turns in the original intersection. This should solve mini-segments that allow for u-turns, left turns that cross the intersection and other similar cases. If the small segment has no connected segments, then it will be used as-is.
  • It is now possible to center on a turn on the map by accessing the navigation list (clicking on the top navigation bar), then tapping on one of the instructions. This feature will be available to everyone, but should also help determining if the dynamic arrow presented is an accurate representation of a future turn.
  • A new code to was added to enable/disable the new arrows design: ##@dynopt. This means that using it once will turn off the dynamic arrows, and using it again will turn it back on. Note that this code will be working to opt in or out ONLY for beta testers.
