Push Notifications Fixer 2.0
Nifty app with a simplistic design
Push Notifications Fixer sports a rather simplistic UI with only a few settings that you can make to the app. It doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, although they would have been needed to explain it's features to new users. Still, there's plenty of information that they can access in the Google Play Store, so that they could get an idea on how this app works.
The app's main purpose is to keep alive the push connection on your phone, so it doesn't come with any customization features for the interface, like menus or themes. It doesn't even use material design, but that's not really needed considering that the UI is just a menu with some settings that you can make.
How it works
The app basically makes sure that you get your notifications in spite of delays on your phone or on the network. It avoids the tcp connection timeout that can occur on some wifi routers or on some mobile carriers. It lets you set the mobile heartbeat interval from 1 minute to up to 28 minutes.
This means that you'll get push notifications after the interval ends, as to make sure that you see your emails and text messages. WiFi heartbeat can also be changed, this fixes the issue with not getting notifications because of the internet connection.
Some shortcomings
For all changes to intervals to take effect, users must access the apply settings section. It would have been nice if changes were applied when users exited said sections in the menu.
The app doesn't come with ads, but it does have a feature that lets you donate money in support of the app's development. This won't grant you more features. All in all, it's a pretty nifty app to make sure you see your emails or text messages on Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp or any other messaging app that you might use.
