PowerDirector – Video Editor 3.1.1
It offers users lots of tools that they could use in order to record and edit videos on their phones. However, the app has an intuitive but dated interface that could use a bit more work.
Dated UI that needs an upgrade
The app doesn't launch with a tutorial or a presentation of its features, but users are provided with some tips for creating new videos. The home screen is filled with all the videos that you've created but it doesn't have a settings menu, which means that you can't make any changes to the app's functions.
The UI seems a bit dated, it comes in a gray background which you can't change. The app only works in landscape mode, so you'll have to get used to that. The first thing that you need to do after you launch the app is to create a new project, name it and then start editing files.
Record nice videos
The app comes with its own editing tools, but you'll have to record the videos before you can actually use the app. You can use the icons to access your media, capture videos/photos or record a voice-over. Files are imported easily, you can access your videos, pictures or audio files.
Batch selection is available, which means that the app lets you combine videos or pictures. There's a timeline on the bottom of the screen, you can adjust its size by pitching the screen. Users have the option to add all sort of effects to their videos, to certain sections of them.
More tools
It lets you add multiple effects to the same file and there are even filters that you may use. There's also the option of adding an audio file to your videos or mixing the original audio with songs. The app provides users with a whole playlist of songs but they can also use files from their device.
It even has some sorting options for files on your device and there's an undo button in case you wish to return to the original file. Users may input text on the video and place it wherever they wish.
When you're done editing, simply save the file and share it with friends. All in all, the app is really easy-to-use and it has lots of nice features and tools for editing videos.
