hi5

Just another dating app, but this one's more intrusive and filled with lots of scammers
Technology brings people together but it can also do more wrong than good, as people need to be extra careful with the information they share online, especially on dating sites. There are many such sites that have launched a version for Android phones.

Hi5 has been around for quite some time, but it seems that it has fallen behind. It has many scammers and fake profiles, so you might be better off trying some other similar apps.

Boring UI with not that many options

Considering that it's filled with all sort of features and sections, it would have been nice if it had a tutorial with slides that would illustrate all the tools that the app offers. Instead, users get instructions when they first open certain features or sections. The first thing that you need to do after launching the app is to register with an account.

We don't recommend using your Google account since the app has trouble processing your registration request. You can use Facebook or an email address. Next, you'll have to tweak some security settings and make sure your information is only available to friends or at least people from your country.

Create your profile and meet new people, if you're lucky

Uploading a photo doesn't really work, so you'll have to be patient with that. A side menu on the right is filled with all sort of notifications, but you'll have to manage notifications especially if you intend to use the pets feature.

The pets section seems like an in-app game in which you get gold or points that you can later use for purchasing users. Each user gets a price and a starting sum, you can get more gold by making some in-app purchases.

However, the app doesn't mention if buyers get access to personal information on purchased users and the whole idea of someone buying you is a bit repugnant. Not to mention that as a new user your price is low and you'll be getting emails by the second, with notifications that you've been bought.

Many many flaws

As if that wasn't enough, the app is filled with scammers or fake accounts. It's not really a place to meet people since you have to pay to see who's interested in you.

It does come with a meet feature in which you swipe photos right or left depending if you like the person or not, but this method of interacting with people is very shallow. A VIP account would get rid of the banner ads and unlock some more features, but you'll have to pay 15.29$ for 3 months or 9.99$ for 6 months.
