One of such apps is Cord. It's a nice and very interactive app, that provides users with lots of fun tools for communicating with their friends. It has a very fluent UI and lots of tools at hand, to make it easy for users to chat with friends.
Sleek and fluent UI with lots of tools at hand
The app launches with a tutorial showing users how the app works and how they can access all sort of interesting tools. The first thing that you need to do inside the app is pick the color of the interface and then register with an account.
You can do so by using your phone number, Facebook or Google+ account. Unfortunately, you can't use only your email address which means that you must share some personal information and import friends either from your contacts list or your friend list on other social networks. Next, you'll need to pick a username to help friends find you on the network.
Connect with friends
Users also need to add a profile picture to make it easier for friends to recognize you on the network. You can sync your address book, find Facebook or Google+ friends, or invite friends through SMS, Facebook or more.
Next, you'll get some tips on how to record your first message and send them to friends. You can record messages of up to 12 seconds long, the app only uses your microphone which means that you won't be able to record video messages. The list of friends is featured on the home screen so you can check it out fast.
Communicate with friends and create groups
After you've finished recording a message, simply pick the friends that you would like to share it with. You can create groups and add whomever you would like from the network.
You can also join all sort of channels on the network and listen to the latest messages posted there. The app comes with all sort of notifications, but you can't really adjust them.
The only thing that you can do is to enable the quiet mode and stop the app from displaying them. Other than that, it doesn't have that many options which means that you won't be able to send text messages to users or filter them by various criteria.
