Your.MD's Symptom Checker 1.3.5

Check your symptoms and read more about possible conditions with this neat app
Everyone has at least once checked the internet for symptoms to diseases they might have. The inconvenience is that the internet provides you with too many links and most people simply give up and go see a doctor. Your.MD's Symptom Checker app can help you discern information and decide whether you should take some tests or not.

Sleek interface that's really easy-to-use

The app is really intuitive, but it doesn't come with any instructions whatsoever. Still, it launches with a disclaimer, stating that the app was made for informative purposes only and if users may suspect they suffer from any kind of disease, they should see a doctor.

Also, any advice provided in the app should be consulted with a professional physician as an app can't possibly diagnose patients simply based on a few symptoms.

Check your symptoms

Before you start searching for signs of any disease, the app needs you to fill in some information, including your name, a profile picture, your location and gender. Type in symptoms and the app will proceed with providing you with all the possible conditions associated to the symptoms.

The more serious diseases come with an exclamation mark and the recommendation to see a doctor in case you suspect you might have it. The app will ask you additional information on the bottom of the screen, in order to sort through conditions, but some of these questions may come with grammar errors.

Read details on diseases

Tap on one disease and the app will provide you with a descriptions, symptoms, a chart with ages most at risk, a list of causes, diagnosis, treatment and complications. There are also sections with things to do to prevent you from getting the diseases and a story of a patient who was diagnosed with said condition.

The app doesn't come with ads but has a section where it promotes partners that have supported the app. Users also have the option of emailing the information. The app has a section with all conditions arranged alphabetically. Moreover, the application comes with the option of setting a password and changing it easily in case you forget it.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8

The interface is really well designed making it easy to navigate within the app, but it's missing some more features to make it more interesting.

Function7

The app performs well, but you shouldn't rely on it too much as some symptoms can be related to several conditions and if you feel you might be suffering from a certain disease then see the doctor.

Security6

There's no increased security measures to help protect your personal information and the app needs access to many areas of your phone.

Battery7

Consumption of battery is slightly above average so keep a charger nearby.

Price9

Completely free of charge, no ads or in-app purchases but the developers created a separate section for app partners.

Compatibility8

It should work just fine on devices running Android version 4.0 or later.

Editor's Review
