Snapchat 9.15.1.0
There are many ways in which you can connect with people and it seems that new ones continue to appear. Snapchat is one of the most popular apps in the store which truly makes it fun to connect with friends and share all sorts of content with them.
Some security issues
Seeing how the app is so popular, it doesn't launch with a tutorial or instructions but rather directly with the setup. All users must register with an email address and username. You must also provide your phone number and let the app verify it.
Your location services must be enabled for the app to work and user must also provide their birthdays, as users must be over the age of 13 in order to use the app.
Still, the app comes with some instructions and tips to get you started and it needs to scan your contacts list to find friends on the network or invite people. It also comes with a discover section to explore Snaps from different editorial perspectives.
You can view pictures or videos hidden underneath each Snap. Press and hold a snap picture in the Discover section to send it to friends. It has a stories section and a discovery screen where you can check out content posted by other users.
Snap pictures, record videos and share on the network
The concept behind the app is quite easy, you simply snap a picture and apply filters before you share it. All pictures have a time limit of up to 10 seconds, meaning recipients can only hold and view the image for 10 seconds after which it's deleted from the server.
But recipients can take a screenshot and keep the images for their own. You can add filters to pictures, captions or draw using a brush. The maximum time limit for videos is also 10 seconds. In order to zoom the image, simply drag a finger across the screen.
You can also chat with friends inside the app and it tells you whenever someone is online so you may start a conversation. It also automatically deletes messages that you no longer need.
Some security issues
Snapchat is really popular among young users as it does provide a somewhat private platform to share content between two users. All shared content is encrypted on Snapchat servers and deleted once you don't need it anymore.
However, there have been cases in which accounts were hacked or the app misbehaved and sent pictures to all contacts. Therefore, it's highly recommended for users to tweak settings to make their account more secure and to be careful with the content they share on the network.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is rather clean and easy-to-use, but it should have some more features. |
Function7
The app may misbehave at times and picture filters aren't always available. In addition, some sign in issues were encountered. |
Security4
Although, chats and pictures are encrypted there have been reports of hackers on the network so you should be careful with that. |
Battery7
Consumption is somewhat moderate, if possible keep your phone plugged in when using this app. |
Price10
It's completely free of charge, no ads or in-app purchases whatsoever. |
Compatibility8
In order to work properly, the app requires Android version 4.0 or later, making it inaccessible to some users. |
It definitely has some security and functionality issues, but it's still worth a try.
