PicLab 1.7.1
PicLab offers a simplistic and intuitive interface, that takes you through the steps of snapping and editing pictures without leaving you confused or displaying too many shortcuts to features inside the app.
One of the most lightweight and intuitive interfaces out there
PicLab managed to hit the mark by sporting one of the simplest interfaces out there, with plenty of features and photo editing tools, to enhance your pictures and make them stand out.
It's quite easy to snap pictures and edit them inside the app, still PicLab doesn't come with any sort of instructions or tutorial to get you started and to help new users discover features inside the app. It doesn't need online registration and it lets you enable flash and switch between cameras with ease. Snap pictures or load them from your gallery and start editing.
Edit pictures with ease
Whether you've decided to snap pictures instantly or load them from your gallery, PicLab is a good choice for making minor editing to them. Firstly, you can scale or crop pictures as to remove bothersome edges and change the background color of pictures.
Choose from a long list of colors and patterns that you can add to the borders of your picture. Next you can add text, change the text color, add shadow, adjust distance, intensity and opacity.
You can also change the text font and style or adjust transparency. When you're done add overlays to your pictures. The app also comes with a feature that lets you create collages using the many templates.
Add filters and effects
Borders and shapes can be added to pictures, you can choose from shapes in the form of hearts, circles, triangles and many more. The app comes with 20 photo filters that you can apply, as well as light effects and textures. Stickers can also be added the app comes with an extensive collection of artwork that could be used.
There are also patterns that can be added, but only five from each category are free, which means that in order to unlock the others users would have to pay for the premium version.
Users can also adjust brightness, contrast, blur, exposure and saturation to their pictures. All images saved in the app come with watermarks, remove them for 0.99$ or unlock all features for 1.99$. The app can be moved to SD card so that it doesn't take up space.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The interface is really nice, it makes it easy to edit pictures by taking users through editing steps rather than providing all tools on the screen at once. |
Function8
It's a nice app for amateurs but for more features users would need to download more professional editors. Also, the interface is non-responsive at times. |
Security9
It shouldn't pose any security threats, but the app does need a lot of permissions from your phone. |
Battery9
You shouldn't worry about battery consumption with this app, as it doesn't have the capacity of draining your resources. |
Price8
It doesn't have ads, but users must pay to unlock features and remove watermarks. |
Compatibility7
It should work just fine on devices running Android version 4.0 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
A nice photo editor that comes with many perks.
