Photo Editor by Aviary 4.1.5
Intuitive interface suitable for a photo editor app
You’d expect the interface of a photography app to be easy-to-use and you wouldn’t be wrong. The app opens with all your photos from the gallery, arranged neatly on the screen in thumbnails.
A side menu on the left lets you log into your Adobe account to gain access to more features from the app’s shop. There are no instructions in the app but considering its lightweight and intuitive design, you’ll hardly need them.
Use multiple tools for editing pictures
One thing is for sure, this app is great for editing all sorts of pictures. Tap on the camera to snap one instantly or load images from your gallery. The editor provides you everything you need to get started. There are tools for automatically enhancing pictures, for cropping, adjusting orientation, focus and lighting.
You can also adjust the colors, sharpness, whiten or blur areas. Text can be added and you can also turn the image into a meme. There’s a brush you can use for drawing on the image and it even lets you zoom in to better add details. Redeye can be removed and you can add effects, frames and stickers. Also, sliders, loaders, and the color options in the draw and text tools are pulled from the photo you are editing.
Shop for features
A shortcut to the supplies shop can be found on the top right left of the screen and opens with all effects neatly arranged into categories. Only a few features come with the app, you’ll need to buy more from the shop. If you log in with your Adobe ID, you can unlock 16 of the most popular packs for free. There's also the option to sync your downloaded packs to Creative Cloud and restore anytime.
You can choose from all sorts of styles and types of effects to enhance your photos. The same goes with frames and stickers, you’ll need to fetch packs from the shop, but most of them are free of charge. Supplies automatically sync to your Adobe ID, you can restore them at anytime from any device.
Once you’re done editing save pictures in your folder of choice, change the name format, size or rearrange tool order to make it easier to find filters. You can get a 30 day access to all tools if you pay 1.99$.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
It’s one of the most intuitive layouts we’ve ever seen with all features at hand. |
Function9
It’s one of the most complex but still lightweight photo editors out there, but you’ll need to use your Adobe account to download more tools. |
Security8
It’s definitely not an intrusive app as it only wants access to your media files and camera, but it needs online registration. |
Battery6
Consumption is higher than for other similar apps, so keep that in mind if you decide to edit multiple photos. |
Price8
While some features are free, others require payment, up to 9.19$ for some packs. No ads though. |
Compatibility7
It should work just fine on devices running Android 4.0 or later. |
It could use some improvements, but it's well worth a try.
