Peak - Brain Training 1.8.10
One of such apps is Peak, it's not as popular as other similar applications but it does the job and gives you plenty of reasons to try it out. Just like other similar applications, it does come with in-app purchases, a bit costly if you ask us.
Sleek design with plenty of features at hand
The app comes with a tutorial and some instructions to let you know exactly how you can use the app. Peak needs some setting up, so you might want to set some time aside in order to create your account inside the app.
Firstly, you'll need to set some goals for your training, like remember important information, navigate better, learn complicated concepts faster or memorize lists and details.
You'll then have to select goals for your language abilities, focus, problem solving and mental agility. All new users need to create an account, use your Facebook, Google or email address to do so.
Train your brain and improve your skills
Unlike other apps, Peak needs you to provide some personal information like date of birth, education, gender and profession, so that the app can provide you with a personalized training program. You'll need to take an initial test, so that the app can assess your skills.
The test consists of four sections, language, memory, problem solving and focus. At the end of the test, you'll be ranked and you'll be able to see your scoring history and get challenges.
After each completed game, you get a score and a set of points. In addition, you are ranked at a level, either novice, intermediate or advanced. Instructions are also provided and the games are truly entertaining.
Check out performance and brain map
The app provides users with four different games each day, so that it would keep your entertained and working on your skills as well. The brain map displays the peak score, an overall relative measure of your performance levels. It displays the scores that you got for each skill and lets you see which is your best feature.
You can also compare results with your age group or profession, so see how you rank. You can also set reminders for trainings, or upgrade to the premium account to get more features. Plans are priced at 2.59$ per month or 12.89$ per year.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The interface is really nice with plenty of features at hand, but it needs some setting up meaning you should be patient with the app. |
Function7
It seems to crash a lot, including during games which is a major inconvenience, considering that users might lose their progress. |
Security8
It doesn't need that many permissions from your phone, but it does requite online registration and it collects some personal information. |
Battery4
Consumption is really high, so it's best if you simply keep your phone plugged in when you're using this app. |
Price8
It's not completely free, in order to get access to more games and features, users need to purchase a plan. |
Compatibility8
It should work on devices running Android version 4.0 or later, making it inaccessible to some users. |
It's a nice brain training app but it does have some stability issues.
