MSN Food & Drink 1.2.0

Browse through all sort of recipes and create collections using this neat app
Food applications are quite useful as they provide users with plenty of recipes and instructions on how to create delicious meals. They also come with shopping lists and the option to create your own collection of recipes, so that you would never be left without inspiration again.

One of the nicest and most useful food apps that we've come across is MSN Food & Drink. It's filled with all sort of recipes that anyone can try, as they're really easy and have ingredients that you can find at any supermarket.

Sleek interface with much to offer

The app launches directly with the home page, it doesn't have a tutorial or any sort of instructions for using the app. Still, you wouldn't need them since the interface is really intuitive with a side menu that gives you access to all sections and tabs with recipes and categories.

Users have the option of logging in with their Microsoft account but that doesn't mean that you can sync recipes or collections to your PC. Instead, you do have the option of picking from multiple editions with recipes in various languages.

Browse through recipes

The app lets you search and browse through all sort of recipes, divided by cuisine, course, major ingredients, dietary needs, cooking method and total time. These filters guarantee that you'll surely find the best recipe for any given event.

You'll also get suggestions and if you wish, you can read the latest news related to food and cooking. In addition, the app is filled with guides on various cooking techniques, with profiles and recipes of famous chefs, cocktails and wines. You can search for wines by region, type, variety or category.

Create shopping lists and add recipes to your collection

All recipes are collected from various culinary websites, they feature lots of pictures, instructions, a list of ingredients and the source. You can share recipes on social networks or add ingredients to the shopping list inside the app. You also have the option of adding recipes to your very own collections, so that you'd be able to manage them easily and find them quicker when needed.

All in all, the app is really nice even for people who are learning to cook, as it provides them with illustrated guides, recipes with ingredients found in almost any supermarket and videos that perfectly show the most basic culinary techniques. Even experienced users may find something interesting inside the app, especially if they check out recipes by famous chefs.

The interface is really nice with lots of features at hand and instant access to all sections inside the side menu.

Function8

It works like a charm and provides users with guides, instructions, pictures, videos, shopping lists and collections, but you can't sync information with your PC.

Security8

Online registration isn't mandatory and the app doesn't really need many permissions from your phone.

Battery5

Consumption is a bit high, so it's best to keep your phone plugged in when using this app.

Price9

It's free but it comes with come ads to Microsoft or culinary websites, there's no actual way of removing them.

Compatibility7

It should work on devices running Android version 4.1 or later, making it inaccessible to some users.

Editor's Review
EXCELLENT

Despite the fact that it could use some improvements, it's one of the best food apps we've ever come across.
