FotoRus 5.8.4
Easy-to-use UI
The app's interface is quite intuitive, but it could use some instructions or a tutorial. The layout is well structured, with all sections neatly arranged into thumbnails on the home screen.
The app comes with plenty of ads, some take up half a screen, while others come in banners at the bottom of the screen. There's a menu where you can change the image quality and check for updates, those are the main settings that you can make to the interface. The save path of the output file can be changed.
Add filters to your images
The photo-editing section is filled with all sorts of tools you can use to enhance your pictures. The app comes with a whole gallery of filters, divided into three categories, classic, beauty and arts. The filters themselves are nice, but frankly there are apps out there with better ones.
Aside from the common editing tools, like adjusting brightness, saturation, etc., the app also comes with really nice light effects that you can add to your images. And if the built-in effects aren't enough, you can always download more. Also, you can use pens to add sparkles and light effects anywhere on the image. In addition to that, the app lets you stretch portions of the picture, so that you could make yourself look taller if you want.
Create collages
You can choose only up to 9 photos to add to collages. Indeed, the app's editing menu is quite comprehensive but it doesn't have many grid styles. Still, you can select from the multitude of background images or download more if you like. Stickers and text is also available.
A nice feature in this app is the photo-in-photo section, which has many styles but some must be downloaded and saved in the app. In fact, the app doesn't come with many built-in tools and quite a lot must be fetched off the internet.
Other than that, the app is missing one major feature, it doesn't connect to the camera to snap pictures but rather wants the user to download another app created by the same developers. Still, the Secret Album feature is a nice touch, it lets users protect their privacy by locking pictures and albums.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
Stylish interface, but it could use some instructions for new users. |
Function7
It's missing some key features and needs to download a lot of tools. |
Security8
It wants access to a lot of areas in your phone and some aren't connected to its features, like location services. Still, it comes with a feature to lock pictures and albums. |
Battery7
It's one of those apps that could have the potential of draining your battery, so keep charger nearby. |
Price8
It's completely free of charge, but comes with banner ads. |
Compatibility8
The app should work just fine on devices running Android version 2.3 or later. |
Good app that comes with some unique features, but it needs more work.
