Feem Lite 3.0.17
Feem is a nice way to do so, as it only requires a bit of setting up and it can also be used for chat. It's a really nice app for sharing pictures between buddies in the same room and commenting on received files.
Lightweight design with plenty of features at hand
The app uses your local internet network to send files between buddies that are connected to the same WiFi, but they both need to have the app installed on their devices.
That's the only setting up the app needs, but it will require you to choose a username and pick a picture although you can use the ones it provides. The usernames are quite clever but if you wish to chat easier, then you should at least pick a picture as the avatars are the same for all users.
Share files easily
Once you're done with the setting up, you can start sharing files. Simply follow the instructions to browse through files on your device and start sharing them. You can send pictures, videos and documents to phone-to-phone, phone-to-computer, or vice versa between iPhone/iPad/iPod, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux and other Windows Phone 8 devices.
The WiFi doesn't necessarily need to be active, but devices must be connected to the same local network. You can have the app prompt a message before transfers begin, so that you may reject file transfers from certain peers. In addition, it lets you preview files that you wish to send but the file manager screen is a bit small.
Chat with friends
You can also use the app to chat with friends, simply have it scan the network and find devices that also have the app installed. Chat by typing on a friend's avatar and writing text.
However, the app should have smaller icons, as to make it easier to read text and it does have some bugs. It takes quite a while to update your friend's image and username on your phone during chat.
Still, it lets you copy text and it's only designed for writing small messages. Feem comes with banner ads which can be removed if you upgrade to the premium version for 4.72$.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
Truly lightweight interface but it seems a bit clogged with too many features and large icons. |
Function8
It works just fine although the duration of transfers depends solely on your device's specs since it can be used on offline networks as well. |
Security9
It shouldn't pose any privacy issues since you may block transfers from certain peers and it only needs access to a few areas of your phone. |
Battery4
Consumption is quite high so keep in mind that extended use may drain your battery and cause your phone to heat up. |
Price8
It has banner ads which can be removed if you upgrade to the premium version for 4.72$. |
Compatibility8
It should work just fine on devices running Android version 2.3.3 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
A really nice app for easily transferring files from one device to another, even offline and letting users send comments to receivers.
