Feedly 29.0.2
Fluent interface that needs some fixes
Obviously, the user-interface is a major component of any news reader app and Feedly manages to sport an intuitive and clean UI, but it does have its flaws. One of the most inconvenient issues is the Feedly toolbar which takes up quite a lot of screen space, especially if articles are opened in webview.
Still the toolbar is there for quick access to sharing tools, for saving articles for reading later and for posting tweets on the subject. Aside from all this, the app comes with different themes to choose from, the option of adjusting font size and style, or connecting to several accounts.
Manage your feed
Feedly is a news reader that collects all articles based on your preferences or their source. It comes with suggestions of topics or websites for you to choose from. You can even add a certain website to your feed. The 'hamburger' icon lists all topics that interest you, together with the number of articles they contain and icons for settings.
You can always remove any topic from your feed or set up connection with Evernote or OneNote and there's a section with all the read articles. In order for Feedly to manage your news feed, you must register with an account. Feedly integrates seamlessly with Facebook, Twitter, Evernote, Buffer, OneNote, Pinterest, LinkedIn and others so that you can easily share the content you read in your feedly with your friends and colleagues.
Browse through various articles and videos
As a news reader, Feedly does a good job at collecting interesting articles and serving them for the user, in an interface with many display options. You can change the view to title only, list, magazine or cards view and just swipe through posts. In addition, there's the option of marking certain cards as unread. However, the app doesn't allow you to save articles to offline reading.
Feedly also has trouble with opening certain articles in webview and takes quite a while to load certain posts, even though they don't contain video. Still, Feedly is one of the most unclogged and fluent news readers out there, suitable for replacing Google Reader.
Or, at least for some users. The app is integrated with Google Now, meaning that the most engaging story in your feedly gets pushed to GoogleNow every morning at 7:00am.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
Simplistic design, but with many view options and some themes, just enough for it to avoid a boring appearance. Still, the toolbar takes quite a lot of screen space and there's no option of zooming on articles. |
Function8
The app takes a while to load articles, posts can be saved for later but not offline reading and some websites just won't load. |
Security8
It requires online registration, connection with several accounts and quite a few permissions from your device. |
Battery7
The app was well optimized not to take up too much power resources, making it safe for use throughout the day. |
Price10
No ads or in-app purchases and no nagging messages to rate the app. Neat. |
Compatibility8
Feedly should work just fine on phones or tablets with Android 4.0 or later. |
A neat news readers but has a few flaws.
