Elevate - Brain Training 2.5
One of the best brain training app that we've ever come across is Elevate. It sports a really nice interface, with animation and lots of games to help you improve and solve problems faster.
Sleek design with lots of nice features
The app launches with a tutorial, showing new users how to access all features inside and how to start playing smart games. It needs online registration, use your Facebook or Google account to do so, as it's faster.
Elevate needs some setting up, you'll need to tell the app what skills you wish to improve so that it can find the right program and test for you. The app may help you articulate your thoughts better, retain more of what you read and hear or improve your mental vocabulary. In addition, before you can actually start training your brain, you'll need to take a brief test of 2-4 minutes so it can assess your skills.
Test your skills
The app has a few exercises and games to help you test your skills, it may have you match words with images, find words that don't fit in order to determine your skill level in writing, listening, speaking, reading and math. Although the tests don't seem that difficult, you have a limited time to answer.
Afterward, you are given an Elevate Proficiency Quotient from 0-5,000, representing your proficiency in every skill. The app's purpose is to help you increase the EPQ by providing you with 3 free games each day. It also comes with plenty of ways to remind you to complete tests and to keep you motivated. The app also features explanations for incorrect answers and reminders so you would continue your training daily.
Upgrade to pro for more features
Once you complete a certain set of games, you will be able to access the next one. Still, if you wish to explore and train further, you'll need to upgrade to a premium account for 4.99$ per month or 37.99$ per year.
You'll get unlimited access to all 29 games, access to premium content and member ratings, so you can see how you compare against other Elevate members. The app is also filled with animation and it lets you know which skills you excel at and which you really need to improve.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The interface is clean and sleek, it makes good use of animation and it doesn't have annoying or useless sections. |
Function8
It works just fine, although it takes some time to set it up. Still, daily games shouldn't last for longer than 10 minutes so it's not so time-consuming. |
Security8
It needs access to quite a few areas of your phone and wants online registration, but it shouldn't pose any issues. |
Battery7
Games do take up quite a few resources, but if you follow the daily program the app shouldn't pose a toll on your battery levels. |
Price8
No ads but if you want access to all games and sections, you'll have to subscribe for 4.99$ per month or 37.99$ per year. |
Compatibility8
It should work on devices running Android version 4.0 or later, making it inaccessible to some users. |
It's a nice app with much to offer.
