Background Eraser 1.4.6
One of such apps is Background Eraser, it lets you crop shapes out of pictures and it leaves the background transparent. You can use the resulting images as stickers in popular image editors like LINE camera and PicsArt to make a photomontage, collage, and composite photos.
Sleek interface with plenty of features at hand
The app launches directly with the home section which comes in a dull gray background that loads some sections. It doesn't have a tutorial or instructions inside the app, but you can get tips on the developer's website, which means that you'll need to use your browser in order to get instructions on how to use the app and how to crop pictures. The app doesn't come with a settings menu or any sort of options for output files created using Background Eraser.
Crop pictures and leave the background transparent
The app lets you crop shapes easily but you'll need to open the gallery for that. Users don't have the option to take pictures inside the app but only access all images saved on their device.
Still, it seems that the app has trouble pre-loading images in the gallery, which makes it quite difficult to pick exactly the picture that you need. After you pick a picture, you need to crop as much as possible so that you will be left with the shape in the center.
Remove shapes inside pictures
Afterward, you can start cropping exact shapes by adjusting the offset between the touched point and the cursor. The feature helps you avoid hiding the editing area with your finger which is quite a nice thing.
The app also lets you adjust the cursor size or change the brightness of the background color, the feature is useful for checking whether the image background is erased successfully or not. Background Eraser has undo and redo buttons and you can repair images by tapping on a single button.
It also lets you zoom on images using two fingers, while the auto mode erases pixels with similar colors. When you're done editing you can save the sticker and apply it on pictures inside other apps like LINE camera and PicsArt. Still, it would have been nice if the app actually let you do that.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is okay, a bit boring and it would have been nice if it provided users with onscreen instructions. |
Function8
The app functions just fine and it doesn't seem to have any stability issues but cropping photos is a bit difficult. |
Security9
It only needs permission to a few areas of your phone so it shouldn't really pose any privacy issues. |
Battery7
Consumption is moderate, still it's best to keep an eye on resources when using this app. |
Price8
The app is free but comes with plenty of banner and popup ads which you can't remove with an upgrade. |
Compatibility7
The app needs devices running Android version 4.0 or later, making it inaccessible to some users. |
It's a nice app for cropping pictures and turning shapes into stickers.
