Avast Battery Saver 1.4.1251
Avast Battery Saver is a really neat application, with plenty of useful tools to use, in order to extend battery life and prevent your phone from shutting down because of low battery.
Sleek interface with plenty of features
The app doesn't come with a tutorial, it opens directly with the home screen featuring all sort of profiles and information on your battery levels and more. It could use some instructions or an introduction to show new users how to access all sort of tips inside the app.
It does however collect a lot of personal information from users, especially since you'll be giving Avast Battery Saver access to all applications, even those that contain personal information. Still, it shouldn't pose any privacy issues since Avast is a top developer, but if you're concerned about that you should read the terms and conditions before launching the app.
Use the app to save battery resources
The home screen displays your current battery levels together with an estimate of how many hours you can use your phone before your battery completely drains. A battery icon is also featured on the home screen and you can optimize your phone and pick one of the smart profiles easily. You can edit multiple profiles, have the app activate automatically when you're at home or at work.
Adjust sleep mode, display brightness and WiFi settings, so that the app can turn off internet connection when you're not using your phone. You can also have it automatically enable Bluetooth or vibrate when ringing. There are also profiles available to use at night and in the emergency mode.
Adjust app consumption
Avast Battery Saver displays a list of all applications installed on your phone, based on their consumption. Force close the ones that consume the most so you would save some battery. Still, it would have been nice if it came with a home screen widget, featuring toggles for disabling WiFi and for switching to another profile.
A battery icon is featured on the notification bar, but the app doesn't really come with that many features and it also consumes a lot of resources. It seems to actually contribute to battery drainage, but doesn't contribute much to extending your battery life.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The interface is really nice, with some features at hand but users would have needed a tutorial or some instructions. |
Function6
Extended use would tell if the app does what it promises, but we've seen many similar apps with more features including widgets. |
Security7
It needs some permissions from your phone, but it shouldn't really pose any privacy issues. |
Battery6
Consumption is a bit high, keep an eye on resources when using this app. |
Price10
It's completely free of charge, no ads or in-app purchases the app doesn't even require users to register with an account. |
Compatibility8
It should work on devices running Android version 4.0.3 or later, making the app unavailable to some users. |
We've come across many other similar applications, that had lots of more features and tools.
